Purpose

As iGEMmers, we are quite familiar with lab work. However, since we were aiming to create a system that may be used in the tailings ponds, we wanted to speak with a few individuals from the industry. We wanted input on how we could ensure the safety and usefulness of our system in an oil sands setting, from an industry perspective. The industry perspective was critical; we as undergraduate students were very familiar with biological systems, but the same cannot be said for those who work in industry. We wanted to gather diverse opinions from people with diverse backgrounds.
