BG-11 for Wildtype in medium solid.


Reagents and Materials

  • 100ml BG-11 Wildtype liquid.
  • Antibiotics.
  • 3% Agar.


Protocol

  1. Add 100ml of BG-11 Wildtype liquid in a flask.
  2. Add 3g of agar in a flask wich contains BG-11.
  3. Autoclave at 121ºC during 20 minutes while label and prepare the plates.
  4. Set the pH at 7’4 for Synechococcus elongatus to come from Harvard. In the other hand, set the pH at 8’9 for S. elongatus to come from Golden.
  5. Add the antibiotics. Cool BG-11 with the agar.
  6. Fill BG-11 in the plates and leave until solidify.
