Golden Lab Rules

Rules for an organized Labflow!

On the base of label it should be possible to find the sample in the corresponding notebook. For standardization all samples should include the following information:

Every group was assigned to a color:
- Group #1 blue
- Group #2 green
- Group #3 red

Language: english
Notice everything you have done the day and what you have prepared for the following day (e.g. inoculation of cultures)
Notice storage location
Important methods can be marked with "Post-its"

every day all used workplaces should be cleaned, especially the clean-bench should be cleaned with 70% EtOH
Do not use the clean-bench for storage. For enough place and a working air circulation keep the clean-bench free of bulky equipment.
Every equipment should be cleaned after using.

All bottles and erlenmeyer flask should be rinsed with water after usage. Then they are collected in the box.
Spülliste aktualisieren und gegebenenfalls gereinigtes Material abholen und aus der Liste streichen. Damit sich im Görlich Lab nichts sammelt, soll diese Liste von jedem Mitglied bei Betreten des Demo Labs überprüft werden.

S1-Festmüll in den Metallboxen soll wöchentlich 1x zum Autoklavieren ins Görlich Lab gebracht werden. Die geschlossenen Tüten entweder in die blauen Mülleimer oder in den rechten Autoklaven in der Spülküche legen. Neue S1 Plastiktüten befinden sich neben dem Autoklaven rechts.
S1-Flüssigmüll wird in einem großen Erlenmeyerkolben unter dem Abzug gesammelt; zusätzlich steht eine kleine Schottflasche zur Verfügung. Entsorgung muss noch mit den TAs aus dem Görlich Lab geklärt werden.
Autoklavierliste aktualisieren und gegebenenfalls gereinigtes Material abholen und aus der Liste streichen. Damit sich im Görlich / Eichele Lab nichts sammelt, soll diese Liste von jedem Mitglied bei Betreten des Demo Labs überprüft werden.
Flüssigmedien: Eichele Lab (T5, 2nd); Dauer: 2 h; Max.: 2x 1000ml Schott bottles, 2x 500ml and 2x 100 ml; selbst autoklavieren
Flüssig-/Feststoffe: Görlich Lab (T3, 2nd); TA autoklaviert für uns. Täglich ca. 9 Uhr
Schottflaschen nicht ganz voll machen, erst recht NICHT, wenn Agar mit drin ist: 1000 mL -> 800-900 mL; 500 mL -> 400 mL

Einkäufe aus dem Chemikalienlager sollen im Wiki eingetragen werden: chronologisch und alphabetisch (gegebenfalls das Materialbuch fotografieren.)
Ins Materialbuch Datum und Kürzel zusätzlich eintragen, damit Einkäufe uns besser zugeordnet werden können.
Einkäufe mit Datum, Preis und iGEM kennzeichnen und am passenden Ort lagern.

Work only on places wich are denoted for working with EtBr. Following equipments are included: UV-table, EtBr-basin, bleach-basin, transport-basin, scalpels, Pasteur-pipette and EtBr-bottle
Do not contaminate gel-chambers or powersuply.
