About

Chloramphenicol is a bacteriostatic antibiotic that specifically binds resudies in the 50S ribosomal subunit, preventing peptide bond formation.[1]

Stability

Chloramphenicol is not autoclavable, it has to be added before pouring plates (keep in mind that the agar is not too hot when adding it)
