Doug is the Richard and Minda Reidy Family Career Development Assistant Professor in the <a href="http://www.bu.edu/ece/" target="_blank"> Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering</a> at Boston University. <a href="http://www.cidarlab.org" target="_blank"> His research </a> focuses on the development of tools for the Specification, Design, and Assembly of Synthetic Biological Systems. These tools and methodologies borrow techniques from embedded system design and <a href="http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Electronic_design_automation" target="_blank"> electronic design automation</a>. He led the award winning UC Berkeley Software iGEM teams in <a href="https://2008.igem.org/Team:UC_Berkeley_Tools" target="_blank"> 2008 </a> and <a href="https://2009.igem.org/Team:Berkeley_Software" target="_blank"> 2009 </a>. He is currently remodeling his "new" 1880 Victorian home...help!!!
