world championship jamboree: storm impact

world championship schedule

Hurricane Sandy has been a natural catastrophe with major flooding and outages in New York, New Jersey and Washington DC. While Boston is recovering well and Logan airport is open, many flights have been cancelled. We are concerned that some iGEM teams will be delayed or unable to attend the Jamboree.

We are trying to prepare alternative methods of participation for teams who are affected by Hurricane Sandy causing them to be delayed or miss the Jamboree altogether.

IF your travel plans have been affected, please let iGEM Headquarters know as soon as possible.

See the World Championship Jamboree contingency page for details.

storm forecast: update

world championship is still on

Hurricane Sandy hit the East Coast of the US on Monday October 29. The Boston area fared well with minor damage.

The World Championship Jamboree will proceed as scheduled.

However, the storm caused major damage in the New York and New Jersey area as well as the Washington DC area. This may affect your flights to Boston if you were scheduled to connect through any airports in those cities. We advise that you monitor your flight schedules and get in touch with your airline for updates.
