HUMAN PRACTIC

- The beginning

Our time came up with an idea of the researcher Mateus Lopes from ICB and after a while it turned into a group of students only. From that, the Biology Synthetic Club has started as a multidisciplinary group which aimed: the creation of a space that could be used for divulgation and discussion over this area; and also form a team to participate in iGEM competition. Meanwhile, our group created the Synbio Brasil blog which is an important divulgation tool over synthetic biology topics in Portuguese and it is also where we published about our projects. We are the first University of São Paulo team and the third Brazilian team to compete in iGEM. Our projects were important not only for training students in biology synthetic field but also to improve our theoretical knowledge.

- Divulgation over Synthetic Biology

Lectures and meetings was our way to spread this field between students, professors and interested people at university in what is biology synthetic and about our projects for iGEM 2012.

- Synthetic Biology Club

It is a club organized by students to discuss on biology synthetic field, on its possible applications and also about ideas over it.

- Synbio Brazil

As long as the blog Synbio Brasil stood out from others blogs, it was invited to become a member of Science Blog Brasil, which achieve scientific blogs and it has been important to inform about our projects and news on this field.

- Crowdfunding feedback

Our team became known due to interviews in television and also important national newspapers. Thanks to Crowdfunding we accomplished the fee payments by creating a video (in English) which included informs over biology synthetic and the competition.
