Abstract
'The USC 2012 IGEM team project consists of developing E. coli in which the experimenter has total control over bacteria’s flagella growth and motility. This was done by first isolating the genes related to the development and motion of the cell’s flagella. Then, by transforming them all into a single strain of E. coli and utilizing various nutrient, temperature, and pH dependent promoters the experimenter will be able to determine the exact environmental conditions via the individual cell’s flagella. In addition to this, the experimenter will also gain control over the method and speed at which the E. coli move through the media'
