Overview

Our project consisted of three different phases.
Phase 1: Produce zeaxanthin in our bacteria.
Phase 2: Insert our genes into the bacteria and produce the proteins needed to convert zeaxanthin into crocin (ZCD and UGTCS2 proteins).
Phase 3: Express crocin and characterize its expression.
