e-candi: The Story   |   Results at a Glance   |   Build Your Own Polysaccharide

The idea of the polysaccharide iterative design cycle is to create a cycle that allow scientists and engineers to continually adapt polysaccharides and take advantage of what has already been learnt. The concept involves:

    • Design: The design of the polysaccharide
    • Build: The assembly of the polysaccharide
    • Data: Characterising, testing and recording data on the polysaccharide
    • Feedback: Feeding back all this data into the design cycle so it can be used by others in the future continually updating our knowledge.

By incorporating this engineering cycle, all disciplines of science and maths can understand and use our technology to produce and analyse polysaccharides. We believe this is the crux of our technology platform and is truely synthetic biology.
