ACHIEVEMENT
From the day when our project was first proposed in mid-March to the day when we stop wet lab work in mid-September, we, our 2012 HKUST iGEM team have been working on our project for almost six months. In our six-month iGEM life, we spent three month in wet lab.
We are proud to say that within the three months, we have achieved the following:
- Successfully constructing the parts for displaying recognition peptide, RPMrel, on the cell wall of Bacillus subtilis. (BBa_733007)
- Successfully constructing two parts for BMP2 synthesis and excretion using signaling peptide ybdN and ydjM respectively. (BBa_733016, BBa_K733017)
- Successfully constructing cell growth inhibitory device for regulating BMP2 production (BBa_K733012)
- Successfully characterize the low efficiency promoter pTms which used to drive the expression of antitoxin ydcD. (BBa_K733009, BBa_K733018)
- Successfully characterize xylose inducible promoter which used to control the expression of BMP2 and toxin ydcE.
- Successfully characterize cell growth inhibition device.
