Making LB plates
The protocol for this procedure can be found here and MSDS for the reagents used can be found here.
Risks
There are no major biological risks associated with this technique and the main risk is to future experiments through contamination of the media. To avoid this the media should be autoclaved to steralise before storage. Any waste should be disposed of as biological liquid waste (please refer to the waste disposal poster on our safety homepage for details).
