world championship jamboree: storm impact
Hurricane Sandy has been a natural catastrophe with major flooding and outages in New York, New Jersey and Washington DC. While Boston is recovering well and Logan airport is open, many flights have been cancelled. We are concerned that some iGEM teams will be delayed or unable to attend the Jamboree. We are trying to prepare alternative methods of participation for teams who are affected by Hurricane Sandy causing them to be delayed or miss the Jamboree altogether. IF your travel plans have been affected, please let iGEM Headquarters know as soon as possible. See the World Championship Jamboree contingency page for details. |
storm forecast: update

Hurricane Sandy is hitting the east coast of the US, including the Boston area. However, the hurricane is scheduled to be be gone by the end of the week. As of right now, the Jamboree is still expected to proceed this weekend. We will continue to post updates if the status changes. Note: Do be sure to monitor your flights, especially if they you are scheduled to connect in NYC or another city in the affected hurricane area (East Coast US). |

We will be collecting stories, photos, feedback -- if you see us, give us your thoughts. Come say hello! In the meantime, if you send an email to HQ, we thank you for your patience as we get back to you during this busy time. |
