PROJECT overview
PHA is a kind of bio-plastic produced by microbes. It's standard extract can be got after being dissolved in chloroform. It is still a technical challenge to shape PHA because of it's fragility, so we thought of one way to use PHA without shaping it. It is PHA's property of water-repellent. According to the equation of Yang and Wenzel, the bigger the surface area is, the stronger the water-repellency can get. Hence, our goal is to stick PHA on weak water-repellent membrane in order to achieve stronger water-repellency.
