Team Michigan is engineering a better tightly controlled, induced protein expression system in Escherichia coli
...to demonstrate that we can create robust boolean genetic control circuits that does not continuously rely on the presence of signaling compounds.
We are using recombinases found usually in pathogenic Escherichia coli to manipulate promoter orientation.
