The LMU-Munich team is exuberantly happy about the great success at the World Championship Jamboree in Boston. Our project Beadzillus finished 4th and won the prize for the "Best Wiki" (with Slovenia) and "Best New Application Project".

Overall project
The goal of our project Beadzillus is the production of Bacillus subtilis spores which display different proteins with special features on their surface. For example, the spore could:
- bind harmful viruses
- bind toxic metals
- bind plastic molecules
- bind e.g. glutamate in case of intolerances
- expose enzymes
These functions could be used to filter fluids as food aditives or for use in laboratory.
For both function and safety consideration, we will stop spores from germinating.
